Keep Those Dogies Rollin’

Today, the Houston Astros beat the Minnesota Twins 4-1.  Though one game doesn’t always mean much in the grand scheme of a 162-game Major League Baseball schedule, this one is significant for at least one reason: It moved the Astros to 5-1 in series played in June.  With three series left (Kansas City, Detroit, and half of a four game set against San Diego) in the month, they’ve clinched a winning series record in June.

Houston has won 6 of their last 7 series, going back to the Pittsburgh series at the end of May.  Still, all is not blue skies and puppy dogs.  Houston hasn’t been higher than fifth in the division since the third game of the season.  They’re only 11-7 in June, and haven’t finished a month above .500 yet.  With 8 games left in the month, there’s no guarantee they’ll finish this month as strongly as they’ve started it.

Short entry today, but suffice to say I’m mostly back.  No Internet access at home until July 1.  Watch for more from me then.

Dang, I was beginning to wonder about ya. Glad to see you’re making your way back. I’ll be looking forward to reading more next month. Bring on the heat!

Hey Round Rock! Well, you’ve certainly given new meaning to being a misplaced fan! Glad that you have been found and are back online. Hope the job hunting had a good result. Just don’t say that you got that job doing stats for the Damnable Yankees! (I got tired of reading that post after a while!)

I like the series wins we’ve been chalking up. (And note that when I left for Israel, the Astros went on a big losing streak. Then I started watching the games there – at 3 AM – and they started winning. It’s really hard being a good luck charm sometimes.

Looking forward to reading new blogs from you and seeing an occasional tweet too!

Well… It’s certainly good to see a post from you buddy! Maybe A-Rod’s Boli can make a move soon as well… Ha! It would be nice if they could put something together before the break, because the schedule gets considerably more difficult after. We’ll see, I guess… I still contend that we need to blow it up and start over…but thats just me.
Good to see you here again sir.

Congrats! You’re #48 on the Latest Leader’s List!
